This year’s class of Distinguished Alumni includes: Julie Kink (Class of 1979); Kami Mendlik (Class of 1991); Marlena Chow Morgan (Class of 1996); and Mark J. Salmen (Class of 1969).
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes individuals who have placed a high priority on education and service to others, becoming role models for this and future generations. Dr. Jon Swenson, a Stillwater Area High School principal, initiated this award in 1987.
A committee through a nomination process selects the award recipients each. The chosen Distinguished Alumni are honored at a reception prior to graduation and at the commencement ceremony.

2019 Inductee. At a time when women were limited in career opportunities and advancement, Lantz found a way to serve her country and enjoy a meaningful career in public service.
2019 Inductee Robert MacDonald III spent more than 40 years serving as a leader of the 3M Corporation.
2019 Inductee David Magnuson dedicated himself to serving residents of the city of Stillwater as a highly-respected and trusted city attorney.
Class of 1972, a nationally-known marketing executive, who helped put Minnesota on the map from Cub Foods to the Mall of America to Super Bowl LII.
Class of 1979, a pioneering community leader who serves as a highly-respected and trusted estate planning attorney.
Class of 1976, a leader in the healthcare serving as Chief Nursing Officer for Mayo Clinic and the Chair of the Department of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota.
Class of 1980, the retired Naval veteran traveled the world as a nuclear-trained submarine officer, serving for 34 years.
