Daily schedule for Stillwater Middle School students

Maintaining structure and routine is important for students in distance learning, but we also recognize the need for flexibility when learning from home. Students will be expected to log in to the start of each class but may have the opportunity to complete assigned work independently after receiving instruction from the teacher.

Monday - Thursday Schedule (Grades 6-8)

  • 7:15 - 8:00 a.m.: Teacher Preparation
  • 8:00 - 8:40 a.m.: Period 1 (All Grades)
  • 8:45 - 9:25 a.m.: Period 2 (All Grades)
  • 9:30 - 10:10 a.m.: Period 4 (Grade 6) & Period 3 (Grades 7-8)
  • 10:15 - 10:55 a.m.: Period 5 (Grades 6-7) & Period 4 (Grade 8)
  • 11:00 - 11:40 a.m.: Period 3 Lunch (Grade 6), Period 4 Lunch (Grade 7) Period 5 Lunch (Grade 8)
  • 11:45 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.: Period 6 (All Grades)
  • 12:30 - 1:15 p.m.: Period 7 (All Grades)
  • 1:20 - 1:50 p.m.: Special Education Pony TIME & Office Hours (All Grades)
  • 1:50 - 3:15 p.m. Teacher Preparation

Monday - Thursday Schedule (GATE)

  • 8:00 - 9:25 a.m.: Block 1
  • 9:30 - 10:55 a.m.: Block 2
  • 11:00 - 11:40 a.m.: Specialist 1(Art/Phy Ed)
  • 11:45 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.: Lunch/Recess
  • 12:30 - 1:15 p.m.: Specialist 2 (Choir, Band, Orchestra)
  • 1:20 - 1:50 p.m.: Office Hours

Monday - Thursday Highlights

  • Minimize the needed amount of “on-screen” learning
  • Keep the structure of school consistent, while allowing flexibility for movement breaks, fresh air, etc.
  • Support families and students with a schedule
  • Ensure staff are available to support students with learning
  • Maintain student to student and teacher to student relationships
  • Lessons will be formatted similarly to in-school instruction
  • Teachers will:
    • Provide a review/feedback of previous lesson, an introductory activity and new instruction about the days learning
    • Provide time for students to practice concepts or skills with peer and teacher feedback
    • Provide independent work time for students to continue their skill or concept acquisition
    • Monitor student progress on a daily basis
  • Additional time for students to get help/ask questions will be available at the end of each school day during the teacher preparation time.
  • “C” days are still the same - students are expected to log into Schoology and complete the assigned work independently.

Friday "C" Day Schedule

  • No live sessions
  • Independent lessons posted for each class.

Get technology assistance

Daily attendance is expected for all students. In person attendance will be taken by the teacher and at home attendance will be based on online activity,

District-issued Chromebooks are to be used for school activities. Only Stillwater Area School students can log into district-issued Chromebooks.

Distance learning will look much different than it did this spring. We've used your feedback to change the way we'll teach and students will learn.
