The "Magic Window" for natural language acquisition is now.
The Natural Entry Point: Kindergarten is the most successful entry point for bilingualism. We will also admit first graders to the program. Starting early allows children to acquire Spanish naturally—through play, songs, and discovery—while still excelling in English and other core subjects. Native or fluent Spanish speakers may be eligible to enter at higher grades based on space and readiness.
A Typical Day: Instruction is delivered 80% in Spanish and 20% in English (for specialist classes like Music and PE). Native English and Spanish speakers are guided by a bilingual teacher, learning alongside each other while building strong skills in both languages, as well as cultural understanding.
A Highly Rigorous Foundation: Our dual language curriculum is as highly rigorous as any other elementary curriculum provided by the district.
