The K-12 Journey

From Kindergarten to a College Degree

A rare, extended journey to fluency that saves your family time and money.

Most immersion programs end after 5th grade, leaving students to lose their fluency just as they enter their teenage years. Stillwater is different. Amigos Unidos continues through 8th grade, giving students time to grow their language skills year after year, with additional high school opportunties.

  • Grades K-5: Lake Elmo Elementary (new building opening Fall 2026)
Students learn side by side and start building a strong foundation in Spanish, with most core classes in Spanish and support in English. As they move through elementary, instruction gradually balances both languages.

  • Grades 6-8: Oak-Land Middle School
In middle school two core classes are taught in Spanish—Language Arts and Social Studies—while participating fully in the middle school experience with their peers. This structure helps students strengthen vocabulary, confidence, and real-world language use as they prepare for high school.

  • Grades 9-12: Stillwater Area High School
Students have the opportunity to take advanced Spanish coursework and earn the Minnesota Seal of Biliteracy. Beyond their language studies, students can take advantage of expanded pathways to earn up to 60 free college credits - enough for a full Associate of Arts (AA) degree - without ever leaving campus, saving families thousands of dollars.
