Atkins Added to Stillwater Finance Department
STILLWATER, Minn. – Sept. 25, 2024 – Stillwater Area Public Schools has added Jamie Atkins as assistant director of finance. His first day was Sept. 23.
In this new role created to support district-wide procurement and contract management, Atkins provides support for capital project and construction funds. He’ll be working to manage contracts and expenses related to several large bond projects, which includes construction of two new elementary schools and remodeling of Oak-Land Middle School. A key role in implementation work, Atkins will assist the district as it continues to automate business processes and systems.
Most recently, Atkins served as the finance manager at Saint Paul Regional Water Services, although is familiar with the school system from his time at Saint Paul Public Schools. Over a five year span as the purchasing manager at Independent School District 625, Atkins served as the director of purchasing and contract services overseeing all aspects of the department. He managed and directed the procurement process, including all contracts, vendor selections, evaluation, and selection for awards.
A 2017 graduate of Arizona State, Atkins holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in operations management.
