Bayless Joins Stillwater Area Public Schools as Integration Coordinator
STILLWATER, Minn. – Sept. 5, 2024 – Stillwater Area Public Schools has announced the addition of Jacquelene Bayless as the new integration coordinator.
In this role, Bayless will oversee the district’s diversity and inclusion work, with a primary focus on the district’s strategic plan efforts.
“Jacquelene brings skills that further strengthen our work around integration, equity, and access as well as the ability to manage and lead for change around equity and cultural responsiveness,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. Efe Agbamu said. “She possesses skills that will help build consensus among parties that may have divergent views and needs as well as racial and cultural differences.”
Bayless most recently worked in Columbia Heights, where she completed a principal internship with the Hylanders. Bayless participated in the district’s equity team and mentored new teachers in curriculum planning and instructional strategies. Her focus on implementing a variety of instructional strategies helped the school meet the diverse needs of students. Bayless also worked closely with the multi-language learner coordinator to create a graduation pathway for students. Before moving into an administrative role, Bayless began her career in the classroom as a high school and middle school English teacher.
Following her undergraduate graduation in 2013, Bayless continued her education at West Texas A&M by earning a Master’s in Education Curriculum and Instruction in 2018. She is currently studying at Bethel University towards a Doctor of Education in Leadership in K-12 Administration.
The addition of Bayless and her experience supports the district’s efforts towards school culture, equity, and inclusion. The strategic plan focuses on reducing the disparities in academic achievement among all students, reducing the disparities in equitable access to effective and more diverse teachers among all students, and increasing racial and economic integration.
