Former Summer Employee Indicted
STILLWATER, Minn -- Feb. 26, 2025 -- Stillwater Area Public Schools was informed that former Adventure Club seasonal employee William Haslach has been charged in Federal court with criminal possession of child sexual abuse material. District leadership met with the United States Secret Service Office on Tuesday, Feb. 25, and were informed of the situation. The district was directed not to release any public information until after Mr. Haslach was indicted on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
We recognize the gravity of this situation and the concerns it raises for students and families. At this time, the District has not been informed that any of our students are victims in this case. Stillwater Area Public Schools has been cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation and will continue to do so as the process unfolds.
Haslach was hired consistent with district procedures and previously worked as an assistant in our summer school age care program. During the summer of 2021 he worked at Stillwater Middle, at Lake Elmo Elementary in 2022 and 2024, and at Oak-Land Middle in 2023. His last date of employment with Stillwater Area Public Schools was in August 2024 and he was never employed during the regular school year.
The individual charged in this case worked at the following locations and with the following age groups for each of the past 4 summers:
