New site for Lake Elmo Elementary secured
On March 6, the Lake Elmo city council voted to approve the school district’s requests for a zoning change and to be connected to city water and sewer. That means the district can move forward with its plans to build a new school on the 47 acre plot of land on the corner of 10th Street North and Lake Elmo Avenue.
District officials will be finalizing the land purchase in the coming days and will continue to work with architects on plans for the new school. The building is expected to open in the fall of 2026.
