SAHS staff member honored by United States Navy
College and Career Center Specialist Amy Carr was honored by the United States Navy. Carr was presented with the Impact Influencer Award by Region Deputy Commodore Capt. David Webber (SAHS Class of 1991) along with several other Navy representatives.
The award highlights Carr’s work as a liaison between students and the military, colleges and employers. She sets up classroom presentations and visits, college and career fairs and the community scholarship program.
“Trust, passion, dedication & knowledge are just some of the values needed to make a connection with students,” said Cdr. John Allen. “It is the push you provide for them to believe in themselves, that leaves an everlasting influence on their future successes.”
Cdr. Allen said without Carr’s day-to-day support it would be impossible for the Navy to reach out to the best and brightest students at SAHS.
