Schrul named district’s Executive Director of Finance
Marie Schrul has been named as the Executive Director of Finance for Stillwater Area Public Schools. She will begin her new role on November 14.
Schrul has spent the past 24 years working in the finance department of the St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS). For the past 8 years she served as the large metropolitan district’s chief financial officer. In that role she oversaw all of the financial department’s activities, as well as advised the superintendent and district leaders in all of the district’s fiscal matters.
Schrul holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting as well as a masters of business administration - both from Metropolitan State University.
“Marie is highly regarded in the world of school finance and she brings a vast background in school finance to our district,” said Superintendent Mike Funk. “She will be a tremendous asset to our team and will help us align our financial resources to positive student outcomes.”
