Schrul named district’s Executive Director of Finance
Marie Schrul has been named as the Executive Director of Finance for Stillwater Area Public Schools. She will begin her new role on November 14.
Schrul has spent the past 24 years working in the finance department of the St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS). For the past 8 years she served as the large metropolitan district’s chief financial officer. In that role she oversaw all of the financial department’s activities, as well as advised the superintendent and district leaders in all of the district’s fiscal matters.
Schrul holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting as well as a masters of business administration - both from Metropolitan State University.
“Marie is highly regarded in the world of school finance and she brings a vast background in school finance to our district,” said Superintendent Mike Funk. “She will be a tremendous asset to our team and will help us align our financial resources to positive student outcomes.”

More kids are expected to come to Stillwater schools in the next 5-10 years and leaders are beginning to consider how best to make room for them in the district.
Bob Graf has been named as the Executive Director of Human Resources for Stillwater Area Public Schools.
Thomas Blair and Rylynn Zanon are among 40 students, with and without disabilities, who serve on the Special Olympics Minnesota Student Board of Directors.

Officials with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) were so intrigued by an engineering project at Stillwater Area High School that they had to see it for themselves.

A group of about 40 Stillwater Middle School students learned to scuba dive as part of a unique phy ed lesson.
Camryn Anderson, a senior at the high school, was listed among the top 20 student artists recognized in the 2023 Student Spotlight Competition.
