STILLWATER, Minn. -- June 20, 2024 -- Stillwater Area Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Eric Simmons as director of technology, pending school board approval. Simmons brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in educational technology leadership to the district.
Most recently serving as Director of Technology for the Chisago Lakes School District, Simmons has been instrumental in leading technological advancements in education. As Director, Simmons was recently named 2024 Central Office Administrator of the Year by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators. His vision for a learning environment where students can access educational resources anytime and anywhere aligns with the district's commitment to providing a 21st-century education.
"We are excited to have Eric join our team," Stillwater Area Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Funk said. "His passion for educational technology and his dedication to improving the learning experience for all is invaluable as we align our systems to provide our students with the skills and tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world."
Simmons is eager to begin working with staff, students, and community to drive Stillwater Area Public Schools' technology forward.
