Statement from Stillwater Area Public Schools
STILLWATER, Minn -- July 3, 2025 -- Earlier this winter, Stillwater Area Public Schools was made aware of serious concerns regarding the potential mishandling of funds by a staff member at one of our schools. The district immediately began a full investigation, and the employee who was the subject of those concerns is no longer employed with the district.
The district has fully turned the matter over to local law enforcement. As this is now a legal matter, we are unable to provide additional details or comment at this time.
Stillwater Area Public Schools takes issues of financial integrity very seriously. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining the trust of our students, families, staff, and community.

Stillwater Area Public Schools has clear protocols in place regarding safety and access to district property. We are also working individually with families who do not feel safe sending students to school at this time to create individualized plan to meet their needs.

At the school board meeting on Dec. 16, 2025, the board voted to approve the 2027-28 academic school calendar.

"The safety of our students is our top priority. As a school community, we are deeply saddened that some of our students were among the victims in this case involving a former Adventure Club employee. Because this is pending litigation, we cannot discuss specific allegations.
