608 Policy: Instructional Services - Special Education

1. PURPOSE
   
   I.S.D. 834 recognizes that special education needs exists on the part of some students. I.S.D. 834 is responsible to identify, evaluate and provide appropriate instruction for all qualified disabled children. When special education services require or result from interagency cooperation, I.S.D. 834 shall participate in such processes in compliance with law.
    
2. GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY
   
   It is the policy of I.S.D. 834 to provide a free and appropriate public education in compliance with Minnesota and Federal Rules and Statutes, to eligible students with disabilities. The Board of Education directs the superintendent/designee to implement rules and procedures in accordance with applicable law.
