Report for Information: Learning Model Update
School board members considered a recommendation to adjust our Return To School timeline to bring secondary students back to school sooner than originally planned. Following new guidance from the state to prioritize in-person learning for students, the recommendation is to bring all students in grades 6-8 and GATE back for in-person learning on March 1. All of our high school students (grades 9-12) would return on March 8. Students would attend school 4 days a week and continue to learn from home on “C” days. 

The board will be asked to take action on the recommendation at the regular board meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Action Item: Lease agreement with Minnehaha Properties
School board members approved an amendment to a lease agreement with Minnehaha Properties, owner of the property currently housing the school bus fleet. The current lease is set to expire on June 30. With the delay of the district-owned bus facility improvements, the lease provides flexibility to the district to break the first year extension period into two six month extension periods, if needed.
