School Board Meeting Notes
At the beginning of the meeting the school board recognized 13 All State Musicians from the high school. They included 6 from the choir, 4 from the band and 3 from the orchestra. The students performed at Orchestra Hall this past weekend with other top high school musicians from Minnesota.
Action Item: Wide Area Network (WAN) Contract
School board members voted 6-0 to approve a contract for leased wide area network (WAN) connections to all district buildings in order to provide high speed Internet access. The district’s current WAN services contract expires on June 30, 2022.
Action Item: Final Policy 205 Reading - Open and Closed Meetings
School board members voted 6-0 to approve policy 205.
Action Item: Final Policy 214 Reading - Out of State Travel By Board Members
School board members voted 6-0 to approve policy 214.
Action Item: Final Policy 722 Reading - Public Data Request
School board members voted 6-0 to approve policy 722.
Reports for Information: Second Reading of Policies 414 and 415
School board members reviewed two policies as part of a second reading, including Policy 414 - Mandated Reporting of Child Neglect or Physical or Sexual Abuse and Policy 415 - Mandated Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults. The policies will come back for a final reading at a future meeting.
Reports for Information: First Reading of Policies 201.10, 202, 201.8 and 201.7
School board members reviewed four policies as part of a first reading, including Policy 201.10 – Board Resignation/Vacancy; Policy 202 – School Board Officers; Policy 201.8 – Board Organization and Officers Roles; and Policy 201.7 – Board Job Description. The policies will come back for a second reading at a future meeting.
The school board adjourned the meeting into closed session pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 13D.05, Subd. 3(b), to discuss the purchase or sale of real properties. The properties are identified as: 10158 122nd St N, Hugo, MN 55038 (the former Withrow Elementary School property).
