School Board Special Meeting Notes

At the beginning of the meeting the board voted 6-0 to amend the agenda to remove the action item related to the Oak Park ALC Design. While board members expressed support for creating a space within the Oak Park Building to house the St. Croix Valley ALC, they asked to delay the final decision until more is known about the budget for the coming school year.

Action Item: Resolution of Intent to Issue General Obligation Facilities Maintenance Bonds
The board voted 6-0 to issue its General Obligation Facilities Maintenance Bonds in the aggregate principal amount not to exceed $7,395,000. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to finance certain projects included in the district’s ten-year facilities plan and related financing costs.

Action Item: 2021-2022 Revised General Fund Budget
The school board voted 6-0 to approve the revised budget, which is an update the preliminary budget passed last spring. The revised budget looks at all of the various district funds, the largest of which is the general fund. Changes from the preliminary budget include things like contract settlements, COVID expenditures, enrollment and staffing changes, inflation and increased costs for transportation, substitutes and utilities.
