7/14/21 Work Session
Work Session Notes
School board members received the results of the 2021 Tracking Survey, a random-sample scientific survey of district residents conducted by BakerTilly. The survey was a follow-up to an earlier survey conducted in February. It re-tested community support for an increase in the district’s expiring operating levy as well as additional funding for instructional technology. The survey also re-tested reactions to potential tax increases. Overall, support of an operating levy has increased since the initial survey, and support for a technology levy has remained fairly consistent. At the July 22 meeting, the school board is expected to determine exactly what will appear on the November 2 ballot.
The school board also had a discussion about its goals for the coming year. Priorities identified during the session focused on academic achievement, financial stability and improved communication and community trust. The board is expected to further discuss and ultimately approve its goals at a future board meeting.
