What to do if your child tests positive for COVID-19

Notify Your Child's School

  1. Send an email to the school's Health Office AND the child's teacher to notify them that your child has tested positive for COVID-19. 

    FIND CONTACT INFORMATION FOR YOUR SCHOOL'S HEALTH AND ATTENDANCE OFFICES
     
  2. Report your child's absence from school to the school Attendance Office. 

    • (Preferred method) Enter in PowerSchool. Be sure to include the reason for the absence as a positive COVID-19 test result in the comments section.  

    • Call the Attendance Line at your child's school. Please include your child's first and last name, spelling of the last name, grade, reason for absence and a return phone number.

Isolate At Home

  • People who test positive for COVID-19 must stay at home until:
    • Your symptoms are getting better; AND,
    • You are fever-free for at least 24 hours, without fever-reducing medication.
  • Please consider wearing a mask for the next five days to prevent the spread of the virus.
